The American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern.

As an AAF-affiliated club, AAF Hampton Roads bestows this honor annually upon an outstanding member of the Hampton Roads advertising community.

The AAF Silver Medal is the highlight of its year. It enhances the image of advertising by recognizing a locally well-known person for their community involvement.

The 2018-2019 Silver Medal Award will be presented in April or May 2019, at a special AAF Hampton Roads Silver Medal Award event. The date is subject to change.
